Portable restroom questions from Louisville organisers and homeowners
Most questions fall into four groups: the Metro process, how the count is set, the accessible units and the servicing. Questions about the Indiana side and about septage rules have their own answers. Phones are answered 24/7.

The Metro process
When is a Metro application needed?
When an event is on Metro property or uses two or more city services. The Office of Special Events confirms how it applies.
Does the restroom plan go in the file?
Yes, as part of the application, with the count and the layout drawn to the same scale.
The count
How is the count set?
For the busiest hour, from the expected crowd and the event's pattern.
Is there a Metro ratio?
None was found in the handbook, so none is applied.
Servicing and septage
Who pumps the units?
A licensed operator under Kentucky's septic tank servicing regulation, 902 KAR 10:170.
Where does the waste go?
To a permitted disposal site, named on each visit record.
